Privacy Policy for Tubify

This Privacy Policy explains how the Tubify mobile application ("Tubify", "the app", "we") handles information when you use it. By using Tubify, you agree to the practices described below.

1. No Account Required

Tubify does not require you to create an account or log in, and it does not ask for personal information such as your name, email address or phone number. The app is fully functional without any registration.

2. Data Stored Only on Your Device

The following information is stored locally on your device only and is never uploaded to our servers:

  • Music files you import from your device (for example, from the Files app).
  • Your playlists, favorites, listening statistics and recently played items.
  • Your app preferences (such as theme, playback and sleep timer settings).

We do not have access to this data. It is automatically deleted when you delete the app from your device.

3. YouTube API Services

Tubify uses YouTube API Services to let you search for and play video content. By using Tubify, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms) and acknowledge that your use of these features is subject to the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

Your search terms are sent to YouTube in order to return results. Tubify does not collect, store or share personal data from YouTube API Services on its own servers. You can review and manage your data with Google at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.

To protect our API keys, search and playback requests are routed through a server hosted by Cloudflare, which forwards them to YouTube. We do not store these requests.

4. Song Information and Artwork

When you import a song, Tubify may send the song's title and artist name to third-party music information services (such as the Apple iTunes Search API) to find the correct title and cover artwork. Only the song information is sent — never the audio file itself or any personal information.

5. Advertising (Unity Ads)

Tubify is free and is supported by advertising. Ads are provided by Unity Ads, a service of Unity Technologies. To show ads, measure their performance and prevent fraud, Unity may automatically collect information such as:

  • Device model, operating system version and language settings.
  • Device identifiers, such as the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) — only if you allow tracking (see Section 6).
  • IP address and approximate (non-precise) location.
  • Information about your interaction with ads (for example, whether an ad was viewed or tapped).

Tubify includes the following ad types: banner ads, full-screen ads, and optional rewarded video ads. Rewarded ads are always your choice — for example, you may choose to watch a video to unlock the Gradient and Solid themes for 7 days.

6. App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

The first time you use Tubify, iOS will ask whether you allow Tubify to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites.

  • If you allow tracking, ads may be personalized based on your interests.
  • If you ask the app not to track, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized, and your Advertising Identifier will not be shared.

You can change this choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Tubify.

7. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR, CCPA and Similar Laws)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to withdraw your consent, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising.

Tubify passes your tracking choice to Unity Ads as a privacy signal (consent or opt-out, depending on the laws that apply to you). Because the data mentioned in Section 5 is collected by Unity, you can also exercise your rights directly with Unity, as described in the Unity Privacy Policy.

Tubify itself does not sell your personal information.

8. Cookies

Tubify does not use cookies itself. The advertising services used in the app may use cookies or similar technologies, as described in their own privacy policies.

9. Children's Privacy

Tubify is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that such information has been collected, we will take steps to delete it.

10. Data Security

Because your music, playlists and settings stay on your device, they are protected by your device's own security. Please keep your device secure and up to date.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted on this page, and the "Effective Date" above will be updated. Please review this page periodically.
